Apparel and Novelties
Apparel and Novelties volunteers are responsible for the operation of the on-course retail area. Members of the A & N team should be friendly and outgoing. Responsibilities include: assisting with the selection of merchandise to be sold in the apparel tent; inventorying of merchandise as it arrives; assisting customers with their purchases; knowledge of operating cash register and credit card machines is helpful, but will train; set-up and break down of apparel area. Also, committee members
will be requested to attend committee meetings. Hours during tournament are 7 AM to 1 hour after play is done. Committee members can choose to work half days or whole days.
Concessions
Members of the Concessions Committee are responsible for managing all aspects of food and beverage sales, including vendor selection, menu, pricing, inventory and tent location. They also coordinate the food or beverage needs of other committees throughout the year. This committee is also responsible for obtaining the proper liquor permits for all Tournament events. They are responsible for the recruitment and training of a large number of volunteers in regards to the Tournament Alcohol Policy, and state laws as they apply to on-course sales. Members are asked to attend training as well as volunteer at least 2 full day shifts. Great opportunity for group volunteers.
Finance
Finance is a great committee to volunteer for if you would like to have some variety during the week. In finance, you can either help by counting money and cashing out registers throughout the day, or you can help by transporting people all over the course in a golf cart, or try a little of both. Members of finance have an opportunity to rest in an air-conditioned trailer, or to be out on the course getting a suntan. The only responsibilities pre-tournament will be 1 or 2 committee meetings, and a short training period where you will learn your way around course and how to cash out a drawer. Finance is a great committee to participate in as a first year volunteer, and you meet many volunteers from other committees, or if you are looking for a committee with little to no physical activity.

Members of the Finance committee are responsible for the ticket gates as well as sales of pairing sheets and spectator guides. In addition to the main gate by the 9th hole and 10th tee, there is a gate on the 9th fairway and the 6th hole. Each of these locations requires a staff of about four to six people, and about ten to twelve people at the main gate. Various duties include cashier for selling tickets, ticket takers, as well as pairing sheet and spectator guide sales. The day starts  early, at 6:00 am and goes until around 4:00 pm, with two separate shifts per day, from Monday until Sunday. The morning shift is from 6:00 until 12:00 and the afternoon shift is from 11:00 until 4:00. The work is not physically demanding, but it should be expected that you will be standing for nearly the entirety of your shift. Breaks are given often when there is enough coverage. This is a great opportunity for a small group of people to sign up for a shift together and be able to work together in relaxed fun atmosphere then go and enjoy the tournament after the shift.
Junior Golf
Members of the Junior Golf Committee have the privilege of involvement in one of the most well known junior golf programs in the state! In addition to five individual day-long tournaments, we run a week-long American Junior Golf Association Tournament with participants from all over the country.
Volunteers are needed for various planning committees and course supervisors during the daily tournaments.   Availability requirements include daytime flexibility early in the morning during the summer to supervision of our golfers during tournament play as well as volunteers for planning before the tournaments.
Operations
Members of the Operations team have an exciting role facilitating the build out of our small city at the Buick Championship. Team members are detail oriented, can manage multiple personalities, willing to learn new skills and capable of wearing multiple hats. Pre Tournament duties include management & execution of work party tasks, leading volunteer crews and supervision of on course construction. Tournament duties include overseeing tournament operations and attending to needs as they arise.
Members are encouraged to attend meetings with vendors and monthly committee planning meetings and must be present for all work parties both pre and post tournament. Operation of heavy equipment training provided.
Scoring
Members of the Scoring Team should be friendly, enthusiastic, able to have fun and have some knowledge of golf etiquette. Must be able to jump in where needed during tournament week. Pre-tournament duties include scheduling volunteers for Walking Scorers, Laser Operators and Standard
Bearers. Tournament week duties are to provide support to our volunteers, including checking them in as they come in, provide breaks for laser operators, and make sure all scoreboards are set with a cart every morning and retrieving them at the end of play. Generally your day will start about 5:30AM to about 7:00PM most days. Primarily we need committee members present Monday, Wednesday through Sunday.
Skyboxes
Members of the Skybox Committee must be energetic and fun, have good communication skills and like to work with people. As a Skybox volunteer you will be on your feet most of the day and may be required to lift ice & bar supplies. You will greet our sponsors, serve them beverages and help keep the Skybox quiet for the golfers. You will be able to see some golf and it is a fun and energetic environment. General volunteers (Bartenders, Marshall's and Greeters) will not be required to come to monthly
committee meetings. Their requirements are: to work a half or full day shift, which consists of a full day; 9:00am to 7:00pm and a half day; 9:00am to 2:30pm or 2:00pm to 7:00pm. Tent Captain's will be required to work from 8:30am to 7:00pm Wednesday - Sunday and should come to monthly committee meeting and the Tent Captain training sessions. Distributions requirements include a full day commitment from 8:30am to 7:00pm and Wednesday - Sunday during tournament week as well as coming to monthly committee meetings. Ideal opportunity for those interested in working with a group of friends or co-workers.
Parking & Shuttles
Members of the Parking and Shuttles (P&S) team are friendly, team orientated and believe in the overall value of customer service. As a P&S member, you will help set the tone for the positive public perception of the Buick Championship. Most team members will be stationed near the parking lot and course entrances. Primary duties include collecting parking fees or attending to the needs of our cell phone check-in area. Our team will share in all responsibilities to avoid any one member being
stationed in the parking area for a disproportionate amount of time. Additional responsibilities include attending monthly committee meetings (as scheduled), and assisting with the needs of the committee
during tournament week. P&S committee hours will be set as needed Monday-Wednesday and from 7AM - 7PM Thursday - Sunday. Shifts will be delegated appropriately (shifts are flexible) and a 3 or more day commitment is required.
Volunteers
Members of the Volunteer team are outgoing, friendly and able to keep cool in a fast paced environment. As a volunteer member, you will be a leader, setting the tone for on course volunteers and ensuring each volunteer experience is enjoyable. Most team members will be stationed within the
Volunteer Compound just outside the tournament entrance, assisting with Volunteer Sign In, solving volunteer questions, operations of the cart barn and radio check out. Additional responsibilities include attending bi-monthly committee meetings, assisting with the recruitment of volunteers through networking events, socials, the media and community events. Volunteer committee hours are from 7AM - 7PM Monday - Sunday and 3 or more day commitment is required.
